TAMA COUNTY, Iowa — A Traer woman was arrested on Monday in connection to the shooting death of her husband in 2021.
Authorities investigating after woman’s body found at Iowa park on SundayDuring the early morning hours of June 18, 2021, deputies with the Tama County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting with one victim in the 1800 block of K Avenue in Traer. When deputies arrived on scene they found an adult male, later identified as Ryan Cooper, with multiple gunshot wounds. Cooper died from his injuries at the scene.
According to a criminal complaint, Ryan’s wife, Karina Cooper, told witnesses she “wanted Ryan dead and could shoot him in the face.”
On Monday Karina was charged with first-degree murder. She is currently being held at the Tama County Jail.
